Maggie Grace's Baby Shower

This is Maggie's momma, Ashley!

This was tied in the moss wreath on the front door, so no one had to stand there and knock :)

We enjoyed a yummy brunch on the patio, September weather is wonderful here!

This handmade yellow and white stripe bunting was hung everywhere...

She gave me a good list of her favorite breakfast foods, and Cinnamon Life happened to be on the list.

I thought little bowls of cereal would be fun!?

My mom and I designed all the printed paper decor. Ashley's colors were Grey and Yellow with a pop of white and teal!

Chad and I painted the entry way hall in these grey and white stripes about a week before, which just so happened to go wonderfully with the shower colors :)

I used my own glass plates and glasses, which always looks nice and costs less than paper goods!

I had so many gals offer to help with food, which was amazingly helpful!

And it does not hurt having friends who are wonderful cooks! :)

Baby Reese's Shower

As I was going through my photos, I realized I never posted about this shower! A few weeks ago I co-hosted a shower for my friend Julie and her baby girl, Reese. It had been a while since I threw a girl shower, so it was fun to bust out the pink! Julie is a graphic artist so I couldn't skimp on the invites and signs :) The shower was @ 7:00 p.m. so we did a dessert and "Menchies" fro-yo bar, since Julie is a Menchies fan. Her friend Elyse is a fabulous baker and made some amazing, brownies, cookies and   Roca Brittle. ( P.S. Elyse if you ever read this, you need to start a blog! Your treats are too good! You must share the secrets :)  It was a great night, and baby Reese and Julie were showered with love and great gifts! Here's some pics, Enjoy!

there must always be something crunchy and salty to help the sugar comma at dessert parties! Veggies or pretzels are yummy and they're easy to snack on in clear cups!

I know... it's the "Dear Genevieve" Pots for the millionth time, but they are SO versatile!

Baby Owen's Shower

Here's a few pics from a shower I hosted with some friends this past weekend for my friend Merilly and her new baby boy Owen Duke :) I racked my brain trying to think of a new unique center piece that I hadn't seen a million times. And of course 24 hrs before the party these hurricanes with sod thingamado's came to mind! I bought a 5 foot piece of sod, at Home Depot for $2.19!! Cut it into 6 inch circles, pressed them firmly to the bottom with a splash of water. The little animals were found at Target for a dollar a piece :) and easy signs on skewers added some fun detail! There are so many other cool things you could do with these sod filled hurricanes!! Twigs, butterflies, mushrooms, bugs, candles... oh the options are endless!
