Frrrozen Hot Chocolate!

Chad and I went away last weekend with our dear friends, Matt and Jenny Poladian to thier family's lake house on Lake Arrowhead. We knew there was going to be lots of snow so we planned all our meals and shopping before we went .Jenny brought all the goodies to make this, she found this recipe on Karen Harisick's blog ( http:// countrylivingshadowhills.blogspot.com ) Her blog is awesome! If you've never been, check it out! She puts up fabulous recipes every Wednesday. We made this both nights we were away, it was so delicious. Chad is not a huge chocolate fan and he LOVED this. It's bound to be a hit, enjoy!

SERENDIPITY FRRROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE

6 1/2oz. milk chocolate, bittersweet chocolate (70% cacao), and semi sweet chocolate, chopped
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups whole milk, divided
3 cups crushed ice
Fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings ( I crushed some of the extra chocolate w/knife:)

Place 6 1/2 ozs. of assorted chocolate in medium metal bowl. Set bowl over saucepan of simmering water; stir until melted and smooth. Add sugar and cocoa and stir to blend. Gradually wisk in 1/2 cup of milk, whisk until well incorporated. Cool mixture to room temperature( can be done hours in advance.)

In blender place remaining milk, chocolate mixture and ice. Puree until smooth. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

okay, you guys are so cute! I loved seeing the pics of you from Emma- wow, the one in front of the apartment for rent (or whatever). I'll be trying that frozen chocolate treat sometime soon... what does next week look like? Wow, a whirlwind of info/questions in one comment, and can't leave out the run-in with Tim Allen...so funny! Do you have my email? kurtjulieandkids@gmail.com. Looking forward to downtown!
