Chad's Birthday!

Chad's birthday was August 31st :) ! I know it's a little late to post about his birthday, but I just found some fun pics! Our dear friends Ky and Lori Carlson, came out from Texas to celebrate with our "Cali Crew" (the Poladians, the Paynes, and the Williams) and Bethany's sis Meredith). We had a great dinner party together, yummy steaks (thank you Ky), charade's - "Chad style", and wonderful friends to celebrate with!

We also had a great week enjoying Los Angeles. We did lot's of shopping: The Americana, Nordstrom's Rack, Crossroads, and last but not least the Salvation Army on Sepulveda Blvd! Yay! for 50% off days! They have them all the time, I love it... dresses-$3.00, cool men's dress shirts-$1.75, really fun jewelry-$.50-3.00! Lori, thanks for patiently letting Lindsey and I treasure hunt...a.k.a dig through junk :)!

Saturday we went for a hike @ Tree People (a great hike @ the top of Coldwater Cyn). It makes your booty hurt and belly hungry. So...we went to one of our favorite breakfast spots, The Griddle Cafe! (7916 sunset blvd. Hollywood,CA 90046) Yumm...I'm craving their famous french toast right now! Everything is TASTY! There's always a wait...so be patient...it's worth it! We then last minute got tickets to Wicked, thanks to Bethany, who went to the raffle earlier that day and won cheap tickets! Chad and Ky went and got us $40.00 tickets! Not bad! The Anderson's, our sweet friends (our new neighbors) watched Hudson and we had a blast!

It was a great week!  We had so much fun. We treasure times like these, knowing that some of our friends don't live close these days and the Payne's and the William's are moving soon. Oh...I don't even want to think about not having them here in L.A., but we know the Lord has great plans for them wherever they go. It just makes me stop and think how thankful I am to the Lord for them. They've been amazing friends and have cared so much for Chad and I. The Poladians are now in Irvine which is not too far, but far enough that we anxiously await their move back home! And Carlson's -- we'll keep trying to get you to move to L.A! :) We love you all and thank God for the sweet gift you have been to our family!  "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
